There’s been so much talk about eggs lately 🥚—but personally, I’ve never been a huge fan. Want to know why?

For the first ten years of my life, I was allergic to eggs, and they were a major trigger for my eczema. In fact, when I was little, I even thought eczema was called “eggzema”—because, in my mind, it was all about my egg allergy!

Egg allergies run in my family. My granddad has always been allergic, and both my brother Jonathan and I inherited it. Thankfully, we both outgrew our egg allergies around age 10, but the experience left a lasting impact.

I used to hate going to birthday parties when I was little because I could never eat the cake. My amazing mom usually made me an egg free cupcake or another treat to take, but I still hated being different. I had to not only deal with my skin looking different but my diet was too.

I can now enjoy cakes and cookies (yay! 🎉), but to this day, I still can’t stand the taste of mayonnaise or eggs on their own—scrambled, fried, or any other way. Some things just stick with you!

Because of my personal experience with food allergies, I’ve never been one to promote strict eczema diets or food plans. If they work for you, that’s great! But just like with skincare products, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution for eczema care.

If you’re navigating eczema, allergies, or both—know that you’re not alone. 💙

I’m always here to chat, so feel free to send me an email or DM anytime.

Happy Sampling!
