If you suffer from eczema, psoriasis, or sensitive skin in general, you’ve probably heard about how soft and soothing cotton is. But have you heard about the wondrous combination of TENCEL and zinc oxide? This unique blend of fibers is what makes our YoRo Natural’s Remedywear™ garments so skin-friendly.

As a mother whose child suffered from severe eczema, once we got through the hardest times, I was impassioned to do what I could to help others get through the most itchy and irritating days. I started YoRo Naturals with our Organic Manuka Skin Soothing Cream after reading about how wonderfully healing Manuka honey is. Then I started to hear from adults with eczema who were disappointed that they couldn’t easily find eczema garments made in their sizes. It seemed companies were only focusing on children with eczema and adults were left in the cold. I realized that there was such a need for adult clothing and I started researching fibers. I wanted something environmentally friendly, nothing synthetic and something MORE than cotton. I also really didn’t like silver and how it contaminates the water ways with heavy metal runoff. After a lot of research and much discussion with various textile producers, Remedywear was created using TENCEL and zinc oxide.

To start with, TENCEL is extremely soft and breathable. While other fabrics tend to stiffen as they dry, TENCEL does not which makes it the perfect fabric for wet or dry wrapping. In fact, TENCEL retains 50% more moisture than cotton. Furthermore, TENCEL inhibits the growth of bacteria and is naturally itch-suppressing. An eco-friendly, natural fiber made of renewable wood pulp, TENCEL combines the softness of cotton, the breathability of linen, and the smoothness of silk. It truly is the best material for treating eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions.

Like TENCEL, zinc oxide also offers many benefits to eczema-prone skin. By forming a layer on top of the skin, it helps the skin retain moisture which is extremely helpful for those who suffer from chronic dryness. In addition, it prevents inflammation by facilitating the growth of new tissue. Thanks to its natural antibacterial properties, zinc oxide helps stop bacterial growth and reduce the risk of infection, especially if relentless scratching causes the skin to crack or bleed. Finally, zinc oxide is helpful in soothing itchy skin and relieving uncomfortable rashes.

The combination of TENCEL and zinc oxide is what sets Remedywear™ apart. Together, these elements have been proven to reduce the severity of atopic dermatitis, reduce itchiness and improve quality of sleep when worn overnight for three consecutive nights.[1]

An important thing to note is that our Remedywear™ clothing is embedded with zinc oxide to help bacterial growth, block odor and soothe skin. Because it’s embedded and not encapsulated or applied as a finish, it is 100% safe to use, even on babies and children. And the zinc oxide lasts over 100+ washings!  In addition, Remedywear™ is completely free from chemicals, formaldehyde, nylon, nickel and latex. This makes it an excellent choice for treating any skin condition including rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, and textile dermatitis.

Lightweight and breathable, Remedywear™ clothing can be worn as a protective layer beneath regular clothing during the day or alone at night as pajamas. With moisture-wicking properties, there’s no need to worry about sweaty irritation or chafing. No matter when you decide to wear the clothing, you can rest assured that they will remain comfortable thanks to their form-fitting design that truly fits like a second skin.

Remedywear™ clothing is a dream fabric for treating dermal issues because it was created with sensitive skin in mind. With the help of Remedywear™, I hope that you or your loved ones are able to find the soft and soothing relief that you deserve.
